2020 Week-Long Camps

Session 1: Around the World with Newlin

July 6-10, 8:30am-12:30pm
From the tallest forests to the driest deserts, the world is an amazing place! Join Newlin Grist Mill for a week-long journey from the tropical rainforest, to the polar ice sheets, and then deep under the sea. On our journey, we will meet amazing animals, learn about their awesome adaptations, and discover what makes our planet such an amazing place!

Session 2: Colonial Kids

July 20-24, 8:30am-12:30pm
What was life like for the people who called Newlin Grist Mill home in the 1700s? In this week of camp, we will explore the ways that everyday life has changed in the last 300 years—and consider what we have in common with our ancestors. Campers will try out 18th-century skills, see demonstrations of historic trades, and visit our working 1704 Grist Mill!

Session 3: Full STEAM Ahead

August 3-7, 8:30am-12:30pm
Our campers will go full STEAM ahead as they explore all things Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in this hands-on week of fun. We’ll conduct awesome experiments, play amazing games, create fantastic works of art, explore new parts of the park, and generally having a good time with all of the exciting opportunities that nature has to offer!

If you choose to enjoy the trails, please follow the practices of social distancing and if you are ill or have been around anyone who is ill or has been exposed to the virus, please remain at home. These steps will help keep our staff, volunteers, visitors, and community healthy.
Members of the staff will be working to prepare the site for when we are able to open. We ask that you respect everyone’s safety by maintaining a reasonable distance.
Decisions concerning additional closings will follow based on the developing situation. Please check back for updates.
