Tips for Visiting Newlin Grist Mill
Newlin Grist Mill strives to make our site accessible to as many people as possible. Our ponds are accessible by wheelchair, as are the Visitor Center and parts of the mill.
Attire and Terrain
Newlin Grist Mill has both indoor and outdoor areas. The trails are marked but not paved. The mill tours travel between buildings. Buildings are not heated, so please wear attire appropriate for the day's weather and activities. We recommend comfortable walking shoes and jackets in case of inclement weather.
We accept cash, check, and credit card for payments.
There are bathroom facilities available at the Visitor Center during office hours (9am to 4pm daily).
The back parking lot closes at 4pm each day. Vehicles left in the lot after 4pm may be locked in overnight.
Bottled water and cans of soda are available for purchase in the gift shop.
Whether you're here for a day or a week, the Brandywine Valley holds many museums, gardens, restaurants, and other attractions. Though we encourage picnicking in our designated picnic areas, there are numerous restaurants within driving distance. Nearby historic and environmental sites include:
Brandywine Battlefield (4 miles)
Brandywine River Museum (5 miles)
Longwood Gardens (9.5 miles)
Tyler Arboretum (5.5 miles)
